Meet the Naga of "The Last Goblin Queen" setting

Among all the Lineages of the Kingdoms, none are more elusive than the Naga. They are the least populous of the Lineages, and often the least seen. Many live their entire lives without ever meeting one in person, which has allowed myth and misunderstanding to grow around them in equal measure. Naga are striking in form: humanoid from the waist up, and serpentine below. Their bodies are covered in scales that shift in pattern and color — bands of green, gold, scarlet, or amber catching the light as they move. Their eyes are most often a deep red, with narrow slit pupils that seem to measure the world with unsettling precision. Naga are renowned for their mastery of poisons and toxins. This is not simply a matter of warfare, but of deep biological and alchemical understanding. Naga healers, alchemists, and artisans work with compounds that other Lineages approach only with caution. Their knowledge of subtle chemical interactions is unmatched, and often feared. Naga Alchemy tends tow...

Meet the Humans of the Kingdoms

Humans are of medium height compared to the other Lineages, with skin tones ranging from light tan to deep brown, and typically dark eyes. While their appearance may seem unassuming next to the more visually striking Lineages, Humans have long shaped the political, commercial, and alchemical foundations of the modern Kingdoms. Human Alchemy is most closely associated with Distillation, the careful purification of materials into concentrated Essences. Where other disciplines may combine or transform, Human alchemists refine and reduce, stripping away everything unnecessary until only the purest expression remains, the distilled truth of a substance’s nature: a tincture of cold, an extract of sharp, the essence of heavy, or the concentrated memory of heat.  At the heart of Human civilization stands the Human Palace, located within the walled port city of the Human Capital. Built at the center of trade routes and sea lanes, the city has long served as both a commercial hub and a polit...

Meet the Ogres of "The Last Goblin Queens" setting

Of all the Lineages of the Kingdoms, none are more physically imposing than the Ogres. Ogres are, on average, the tallest and strongest of the Lineages, broad-shouldered and powerfully built. Their gray skin, blunt horns, and striking purple or blue hair and eyes make them instantly recognizable wherever they travel. To many outsiders, an Ogre’s size alone can feel intimidating. But the greatest strength of the Ogres is not simply physical. It is memory Ogres possess extraordinarily developed mind-body awareness. They have exceptional balance, an instinctive understanding of space and movement, and memories so precise that an Ogre can walk a mountain trail once and remember every turn decades later. A master craftsperson may recall the exact weight, shape, and balance of a tool they handled in childhood. This has shaped Ogre culture in profound ways. While Humans build archives and Elves preserve knowledge through scholarship and the Dreaming, Ogres carry their history within themselve...

Meet the Elves of the Kingdoms

To outsiders, Elves often appear distant, graceful, and impossibly composed. Part of that impression comes from their appearance: Elves are slender and graceful, with blue skin, pointed ears, brightly colored hair, and striking silver or golden eyes. Many Humans and Goblins describe them as almost androgynous, possessing a detached beauty that feels difficult to categorize. But appearances, among Elves, are rarely the full truth. The true heart of Elvish culture lies in how they dream. Every Elf is a lucid dreamer. From childhood onward, Elves learn to move consciously through a vivid dream-world they call the Dreaming. To an Elf, dreams are not fleeting illusions or scattered fragments of the mind. The Dreaming is considered just as real and meaningful as waking life. Elves build memories there. They hold conversations, revisit old places, experiment with ideas, and spend time with loved ones long after falling asleep. This changes the way Elves experience time itself. Although Elves ...

Meet the Goblins of "The Last Goblin Queen"

When people first hear the word “Goblin,” they often imagine monsters lurking in caves or raiding travelers on lonely roads. The Goblins of the Kingdoms are something very different. Goblins are one of the great Lineages of the world, known for their resilience, ingenuity, and deeply rooted communities. They are, on average, the shortest of the Lineages, with skin in varying shades of green and distinctive pointed ears. While outsiders sometimes underestimate them because of their size, that mistake rarely lasts long. What truly sets Goblins apart is something called a Knack. Every Goblin is born with one. A Knack is an inborn magical talent unique to the individual. Most Knacks are subtle rather than dramatic — the sort of ability that makes a Goblin naturally exceptional at a particular task. One Goblin might instinctively understand how to repair broken tools. Another may have an uncanny sense for hidden tunnels, flawless balance, or the ability to calm frightened animals. In Goblin...

Nyra the Forsaken, a LGQ short story

Nyra is Forsaken—an outcast forbidden weapons, forbidden status, forbidden a future. Yet when the Temple of Dawn is found butchered and plundered, she refuses to slither past the dead and call it fate. With only a reed begging bowl, a tattered cloak, and Pearl—a tiny stormwyrm carrying a sharp-tongued fragment of a goddess—Nyra follows the bandits’ trail into the jungle ruins of the old Naga empire. But the “men of the road” waiting beside their fire aren’t strangers… and they’ve mistaken her humility for helplessness. She’ll correct them with skill, devotion, and the wrath she never wanted to carry. A swift, atmospheric tale of sacred roads, fallen empires, and brutal justice, “Nyra the Forsaken” expands the world of The Last Goblin Queen. https://www.amazon.com/Last-Goblin-Queen-Forsaken-Kingdoms-ebook/dp/B0GX7V4ZHB/ref=sr_1_4?crid=2Q5BPBNIK8ZSX&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.u5kFSaEV9t-fsNNr9q4trw9zzXlfQfoMe9nM-pmlkrmPeLH4izh-tgBvPXW5GQgLJchgICSGzB1fN7r00c3lj1fMrWe0G8k-Kty-HWPj8AlVXuK2AJx6kPB...
